In the morning, meet with our guide and begin your exploration of the Imperial City of Hue. Located on the northern bank of the Perfume River, the Hue Citadel was built by Emperor Gia Long and designed exclusively for the Emperor and his household. This 2-kilometer square complex encompasses three walled enclosures: the Citadel (Kinh Thanh Hue), the Yellow Imperial City (Hoang Thanh), and at its center, the Forbidden Purple City (Tu Cam Thanh), where the Emperor resided. The Hue royal complex is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Next, enjoy a scenic boat trip on the Perfume River to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda (Heavenly Lady Pagoda), one of the oldest religious structures in Hue. Located 4 kilometers upstream on the riverbanks, it is an active Buddhist monastery dating back to 1601. Later, visit Dong Ba Market for some shopping.
In the afternoon, embark on a spectacular drive over Hai Van Pass, offering breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the famous Lang Co fishing village. Continue to the charming historic city of Hoi An, situated on the banks of the Thu Bon River. Hoi An was a major trading center in Southeast Asia during the 16th century and was declared a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site in 1999. Overnight at a hotel in Hoi An.
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll transfer to Cam Thanh Water Coconut Village for a brief introduction to its history. Embark on a basket boat ride along the water coconut river, where fishermen will teach you how to catch crabs (2 people per boat). After disembarking, return to Hoi An Town.
In the afternoon, discover Hoi An, a major trading center in Southeast Asia during the 16th century, known to early Western merchants. Hoi An features a unique blend of Chinese-Vietnamese architecture, with well-preserved tile-roof houses and narrow streets. Despite its tumultuous past, the original structures remain virtually intact, earning UNESCO World Heritage status in 1999. The surrounding countryside of Hoi An is also a highlight that visitors should experience.
One of the best ways to explore Hoi An and its surroundings is on foot. During your leisurely walk, you'll visit historic merchant and community houses, places of worship, and the famous Japanese Covered Bridge. Witness the daily life of the locals, with green paddy fields, vegetable gardens, markets, temples, historic houses, fishermen, and stunning countryside scenes. This tour offers excellent photo opportunities and the chance to engage with the locals, creating unforgettable memories.
Later, head to Danang, Vietnam's fourth-largest city and a gateway to the central provinces with beautiful beaches and resorts. Upon arrival in Danang, check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.
