You first head southwest to Mai Chau, 150 km from Hanoi, which you reach around noon, after a photo stop in the mountains as you descend towards the valley where the small town of Mai Chau is located. It's this valley that is spectacular, as it has the shape of a bowl surrounded by a circle of mountains, and the town is situated on the edge of this bowl.
You spend the afternoon strolling through the surrounding countryside, at the bottom of the bowl, mainly occupied by rice fields. It is primarily inhabited by the White Thai ethnic minority, who build their houses on stilts, clustered in small villages. You move from village to village, which are surrounded by rice fields, glistening in the sun. You first arrive at the village of Pom Coong, and you finish after completing a loop at the village of Ban Lac. In many houses, locally crafted products are displayed, especially textiles with ethnic patterns, made on-site, as you see several women weaving cotton on traditional looms.
Check-in at the Mai Chau Eco Lodge.
Dinner on your own.

In the morning, continue your village exploration with a bike ride (or a hike depending on weather conditions) through the Thai villages and rice fields. You will also visit the local market in Mai Chau.
In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the entrance of Pu Luong to reach the starting point of the Pu Luong trek. This travel guide will provide you with all the necessary information and experiences to enjoy precious moments of relaxation with family or friends.
You will have the choice between two accommodation options: spending the night in a stilt house or in a more comfortable private room bungalow of a resort.
Overnight stay in Pu Luong.
After breakfast, visit Kho Muong Cave, which is home to many types of bats. There are at least 4 types of bats in Kho Muong Cave at different times of the year.
